Partnering with you to help create healthy smiles

Ready, set, authenticate with multi-factor authentication

Enroll in multi-factor authentication (MFA) immediately to protect your practice and patient data with an extra layer of security. MFA is now required for all Delta Dental provider portals.

What is MFA?

MFA is a secure login process that adds a second step beyond just a password — like an email code or security question — to verify your identity. It significantly reduces the risk of cyber attacks and helps safeguard sensitive patient data.

How it works
When you attempt to log in to your account with your username and password, Delta Dental will send a single-use code by email or by phone. You must enter that code on the sign-in screen of your provider account to verify your identity and complete authentication.

What you need to do

  • Ensure each user has a unique login (no shared accounts).
  • Share this information with all team members who have Delta Dental provider accounts.

Note: If you're a third party working on behalf of a dental office, please contact the dental office directly to obtain the authorization code.

What happens if I don’t enroll?
If you don’t enroll, you will not have access to your account. MFA is the new sign-in standard, required to access all Delta Dental provider accounts.

How to enroll

  • Log in to your Delta Dental provider account and follow the prompts.
  • To stay signed in, when you enter your username, select the box “Remember me (providers only)”. By selecting this option, you won’t need to enter an MFA code (email or phone) each time you log in for the next 12 hours.
