Step 1: Choose the plan that fits you best

  • STANDARD PLAN: 
    Best for preventive routine dental care

    • Low premiums
    • 100% coverage for in-network basic services, including cleanings, X-rays, and exams
    • Coverage for intermediate services, such as fillings, extractions, and more
    • Benefits for major procedures, including crowns, bridges, implants, and other advanced treatments
    • Orthodontic services for children
  • HIGH PLAN: 
    Best for those needing additional dental work

    • All the benefits of the Standard Plan
    • Lower out-of-pocket costs
    • Unlimited annual maximum for in-network services
    • More coverage for out-of-network services
    • Adult orthodontic coverage and a higher maximum for children’s orthodontic services

Step 2: Preview your rates and FEDVIP plan options

Step 3: Enroll through BENEFEDS.gov

Enroll in our plans through BENEFEDS, which is the official website to enroll in your FEDVIP benefits.

Go to the BENEFEDS website or call 877-888-FEDS (3337) and select Delta Dental as your provider. Then select your preferred Delta Dental federal dental Standard or High plan.

You can enroll either during Open Season or within 60 days of becoming eligible.

  • Open Season

    The second Monday in November to the second Monday in December.

  • Outside of Open Season

    Newly eligible members have 60 days from the date they become eligible or experience a qualifying life event.

In 1987, Delta Dental was honored to receive the first federal government contract for administering government dental insurance to retired uniformed service members, as well as eligible federal employees, annuitants, and their family members.

Both Delta Dental Federal Employees Program dental plans offer coverage to fit your needs and budget. And, if you use an in-network FEDVIP dental provider, costs are 100% covered for preventative services such as exams and cleanings. Finding a dentist is simple with our extensive nationwide network and our easy-to-use Find a dentist tool. With 66 years of experience and over 80 million enrollees, we’re proud and excited to support you with our Federal Employees Dental Program.

If you have FEDVIP dental insurance for retired military or federal employees, add or remove family members through BENEFEDS.gov or by calling 1-877-888-FEDS (1-877-888-3337). 

If you need to make coverage updates outside of open enrollment season, you can add a family member if you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). For specific details, refer to your Plan Brochure, visit BENEFEDS.gov, or call 877-888-3337.

Delta Dental’s Federal Employees Program provides dental for retired military personnel, federal employees, survivor annuitants, and dependents. Dependent eligibility depends on factors such as age, marital status, and student status.

If you qualify for FEDVIP dental insurance, USPS dental insurance, or military retiree dental insurance, enroll directly through BENEFEDS.gov. Simply sign up or log in if you have an account, choose dental coverage, and click on Delta Dental. No internet access? Call toll-free at 877-888-3337. For TTY, call 877-889-5680.
