The San Francisco Business Times recognized Delta Dental of California as one of the top 20 corporate philanthropists in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Ranked 18 out of 100 in the publication’s 2022 Bay Area Top Corporate Philanthropists list, Delta Dental of California has been recognized for six consecutive years in the top 50 and this is its first time in the top 20. The recognition reflects the leading dental health benefit provider’s continued commitment to investing in the communities it serves through its philanthropic arm, the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation.
“It's a profound honor for us to break into the top 20 corporate philanthropists in the Bay Area, which is a testament to our dedication in supporting nonprofits and helping them build resilient, healthy communities,” said Kenzie Ferguson, vice president of foundation and corporate social responsibility for Delta Dental of California. “Delta Dental is a purpose-driven organization that aims to improve health by providing access to quality care. Our annual grants reflect that goal and focus on addressing the oral health crisis among older adults in the U.S., increasing access to quality care and supporting the future of dentistry by improving representation in the field. This recognition by the San Francisco Business Times reflects our unwavering commitment in one of the many communities across our footprint.”
The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation recently granted $16 million to nonprofit organizations through its 2023-2024 Access to Care Grants Program, which increases and safeguards access to quality, affordable oral health care. The annual program functions across all 15 states and Washington, D.C. where Delta Dental of California operates.
Since 2011, the Community Care Foundation has granted more than $130 million to community organizations, including $6.85 million to Bay Area nonprofits in 2022 alone.
The San Francisco Business Times Corporate Philanthropy list annually cites the Bay Area’s most generous corporate citizens and highlights those who made contributions to Bay Area-based charitable organizations in the following counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma.
