The San Francisco Business Times recognized Delta Dental of California as one of the top 20 corporate philanthropists in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Ranked 16 out of 100 in the publication’s 2023 Bay Area Top Corporate Philanthropists list, Delta Dental of California has been recognized for seven consecutive years in the top 50 and, for the last two years, appeared in the top 20 of the ranking. The recognition reflects the leading oral health benefit provider’s continued commitment to investing in the communities it serves through its philanthropic arm, the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation.
“Delta Dental’s second consecutive appearance among the top 20 corporate philanthropists in the Bay Area reflects our longstanding dedication to partnering with nonprofits to help build resilient, healthy communities,” said Kenzie Ferguson, vice president of foundation and corporate social responsibility for Delta Dental of California. “We’re passionate about our philanthropic work because supporting Bay Area communities enables us to make a direct positive impact while also advancing our organization’s purpose: to improve health by providing access to quality care. From addressing the oral health crisis among older adults in the U.S to supporting the future of dentistry by improving representation in the field, our annual giving is central to who we are, and we are grateful to be recognized for the work.”
The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation recently granted $16.3 million to nonprofit organizations through its 2024-2025 Access to Care Grants Program, which increases and safeguards access to quality, affordable oral health care. The annual program is active across all 15 states and Washington, D.C. where Delta Dental of California operates. Since 2011, the Community Care Foundation has granted more than $150 million to community organizations, including $6.1 million to Bay Area nonprofits in 2023 alone.
The San Francisco Business Times Corporate Philanthropy list annually cites the Bay Area’s most generous corporate citizens and highlights those who made contributions to Bay Area-based charitable organizations in the following counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma.
