Original Medicare may have limited or no dental coverage. You can reduce costs and meet your dental needs with an individual dental insurance plan from Delta Dental. Shop the plans.

Enroll anytime. If you know the date you plan to retire, you can set the start date of your new individual plan in the future. The Delta Dental individual plans have multiple start date options with a minimum of two months in the future. You can choose the date when you shop for a plan.

With a Delta Dental individual PPO plan, you can keep the dentist you know and trust or visit any other licensed dentist, anywhere. You may save the most by visiting a dentist from our PPO network. 

With a DeltaCare USA individual plan, you can keep your dentist as long as they’re in the DeltaCare USA network.

An individual dental insurance plan is not paid by your employer. It’s a direct relationship between you and Delta Dental. Shop the plans.

Anyone can enroll in a Delta Dental individual plan year-round. You need to be age 18 or older to enroll yourself. You can add your spouse, as well as dependents up to age 26, to your plan. Shop the plans.

DeltaCare USA individual plans are available in CA, FL, MD, NV, NY, PA, TX, UT and DC.

When you enroll in an individual dental insurance plan, you can pay your premium directly to Delta Dental. We accept the following payment methods: bank account debit (ACH), credit card and check. You can also set up autopay with your bank or credit card. Shop the plans.

Absolutely. You need to be age 18 or older to enroll yourself. Then you can add your spouse, as well as dependents up to age 26, to your plan. Shop the plans.

It depends on which plan you choose. Delta Dental individual PPO⁴ plans have waiting periods for basic (e.g., fillings) and major (e.g., root canals, crowns) services. However, diagnostic and preventive care services (e.g., exams, x-rays, cleanings) do not require waiting periods on any plans.

DeltaCare USA⁵ DHMO-type individual plans do not have waiting periods.

If you’re in California, Delta Dental can review your previous dental coverage and consider waiving the waiting period, if applicable.

COBRA continuation coverage plans are the same plans offered by your company during your employment. They are likely available to you for a limited time at the full-cost rate for the coverage. The Smile On program is not a continuation of benefits. Instead, Smile On is available at any time you wish to enroll and allows you to choose an individual dental insurance plan that fits your budget and needs. Shop the plans.
